These are fixed holiday’s special Camps which cater for cyclists of all abilities. Some Camps offer various guided rides per day. Cycle Camps are not only ideal for the beginner or keen cyclist, but also for non-cycling partners of families as Mum or Dad can go off cycling while there is still plenty to do for the non-cyclist during the day. Each location varies but most have high energy food.
Group tours start on pre-defined dates and include luggage transfer in the basic holiday cost. There are two types of group tours, on our basic group tour the guide usually is in a van and provides local support for you. Our guided group tours have a cycling guide showing you the way to cycle.
We use accommodation primarily in Local Tourist Board graded hotels, guest houses and country inns on a bed and breakfast basis.
If accommodations are not members of their Local Tourist Board then accommodation grading is judged and classified by Mtb Kashmir and Walking and is based on our experience and on classification in different countries. Our judgment is final and may differ from the official accommodation grade of respective countries. All are chosen for their accessibility to the route and warmth of welcome.
We try and find accommodation which is interesting and we are sure all our providers of accommodation will show an active interest in your tour progress. Indeed we consider our providers to be our partners rather than just accommodation providers.
All our prices are based on two persons sharing a twin/double room. However, single persons are most welcome but incur a supplement. We try and provide en-suite rooms where possible but on occasions, this may not be possible on some tours. If you insist on an en-suite room then please provide this request during the booking process. On some tours we have the option to book half board, it is likely that the menu will be restricted between 1 to 3 choices.
All our cycling vacations include luggage transfers as standard.
We welcome family groups and are happy to suggest suitable tours to you by email or by phone. Our Cycling Holiday Gradings
All our cycle tours are graded to help you determine if they are suitable for you however, it is only an estimation as there are many factors which determine a tour difficulty like wind direction, road surface, temperature and of course one’s fitness and preparation for your cycling holiday.
Easy biking in the nearly flat landscape, some minor hills maybe on some days, these tours are usually for people with little or no experience. The daily distances will be between 18-30 miles per day.
Biking in flat to hilly areas. You will encounter some climbs from time to time sometimes short but steep. The daily distances are between 18-45 miles per day
Strenuous biking trips in hilly regions where climbs cannot be avoided. These could belong in places. The daily distances are between 18-60 miles per day
Serious and strenuous biking in mountainous regions, climbs are longer and steeper than level 3 tours. Distances between 18-75 miles per day.
Serious tours for serious cyclists often in training or with many years of biking experience. Distances 30 miles per day upwards.
Self Guided or Guided
It is your personal preference to which category you wish to choose. Only you can decide what you are best suited too. If you take a read below, you can find some more information to help you decide.
A self-guided holiday is where you will navigate a route (we provide route instructions and maps) by yourself as opposed to a guided tour where you will be escorted by a tour guide. You have the freedom to decide the time at which you leave each day, where to stop and places to visit along the routes provided. Independent cycling holidays give you maximum flexibility as you can cycle at your own pace and take in your surroundings as you go. Here at MTB Kashmir on Cycling, we give you detailed cycling route notes, as well as maps so you can find your way along all the routes.
A guided holiday, on the other hand, means you have the security of a local guide who knows the routes and region and will guide you along the route each day. There will be set times to depart, planned itinerary for the day and as your guide will be local will be able to give you local history and show you any hidden beauty spots that only the locals would know about. You will still receive your tour package that includes guide book, route map etc which you can read if you want to (please check what’s included a section as each tour can be different).
